The Aflao police command is investigating a case of threat of life on the Ketu South Constituency Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
The case of threat of life and attempt to murder the NPP Vice Chairman, Daniel Akpalu who is also an Aflao based Businessman and a freight forwarder, was reported at the Aflao police station.
According to the Statement filed with the police, Daniel Akpalu indicated that on the July 1, 2021 his brother, John Akpalu reported to him that he (the brother) saw Mr. Martin Danquan, National Security Coordinator at Aflao Lowcost around 7 pm on March 16, 2021.
According to Daniel Akplau, his brother said when he greeted Mr. Martin Danquan, he (Martin Danquan) then asked him who he was.
“My Junior brother John Akpalu told him he is a brother to Daniel Akpalu the Constituency Vice Chairman NPP in Ketu South.”
Daniel Akpalu reported that Martin Danquan, according to his brother, went to his car and pulled out weapon, AK 47, showed it to him and passed a message on to him (Daniel Akpalu.)
He said Martin Danquan told his brother, “Have you seen this weapon? Go to your senior brother Daniel Akpalu tell him if he did not take time I would killed him with this weapon.”
According to Daniel Akpalu, upon hearing the information from his brother he made a formal complained to the police for investigation.
Meanwhile, as at the time this paper went to press yesterday, John Akpalu had also gone to the Police station to write his statement.
The police is yet to invite or effect the arrest of the accused/suspect Martin Danquan for questioning.
